Church in Mozambique Destroyed in Islamist Attack

Islamists attacked the parish of St. Louis de Montfort in Meza, Cabo Delgado, northern Mozambique, on April 30.
According to Aid to the Church in Need (ACN), militants entered the parish in the afternoon and destroyed the church, parish offices, missionaries’ residence, and kindergarten.
Buildings were set on fire and the historic church was reduced to rubble.
The parish was founded in 1946 and was one of the main Catholic landmarks in the region.
Bishop António Juliasse of Pemba said civilians were captured and forced to listen to speeches during the attack. The Cameroonian missionaries serving the parish were not present when the attackers arrived and were unharmed.
There were no confirmed deaths during the April 30 attack.
The insurgency in Cabo Delgado has continued since 2017 and has caused thousands of deaths and displaced more than one million people. Church officials say at least 118 churches and chapels have been destroyed during the conflict.

Council's Peritus: "Vatican II Liturgical Reform Was Stillborn"

Selected quotes from the book A Wider View of the Second Vatican Council by Archimandrite Boniface Luykx. Republished in English by Angelico Press, Brooklyn, NY, 2025.
Archimandrite Boniface Luykx (1915–2004) was a Belgian Premonstratensian canon regular, professor, and liturgical scholar. In the 1940s and 1950s he was among the leading figures of the Catholic liturgical movement and taught for many years at the University of Notre Dame’s Summer School of Liturgy. From 1960 to 1971 he served as a missionary in Africa, where he founded the Monastère de l’Assomption and taught at Lovanium University in Kinshasa, Zaire (now the Democratic Republic of the Congo). Beginning in 1959, he was a member of the Preparatory Commission for the Liturgy and later served as a liturgical consultant and expert (peritus) at the Second Vatican Council, as well as one of the authors of the Constitution on the Sacred Liturgy (Sacrosanctum Concilium).
After the Council, he became a member of the Consilium …

Tonight at Castel Gandolfo, Pope Leo XIV responded to the criticism he has received from Donald Trump: "From the first moment, I have spoken of peace. The mission of the Church is to preach the Gospel and to promote peace. If anyone wants to criticise me for doing so, they should do so truthfully. The Church has spoken out against nuclear weapons for years, so there is no doubt about that."

Leo's brief comments to the press this evening -- “I have already spoken from the first moment ‘peace be with you.’ The mission of the Church is to preach the Gospel, to preach peace. If anyone wants to criticize me for proclaiming the Gospel, let them do so truthfully. The Church has spoken out against all nuclear weapons for years, so there is no doubt about that”

Israel-Lebanon War: Israeli Troops Damage Catholic Convent in Lebanon | WION
Tensions along the Israel-Lebanon border have intensified after reports that Israeli troops damaged a Catholic convent in southern Lebanon during ongoing military operations. The incident has raised concerns over the impact of the conflict on religious sites and civilians. While details remain unclear, the development underscores the fragile ceasefire and the risk of further escalation between Israel and Hezbollah in the region.
A branch of the Catholic church expressed deep concern Monday over reports that Israel was demolishing civilian and religious buildings in parts of southern Lebanon under its control, following allegations that a convent had been bulldozed.
The Council of Melkite Greek Catholic Bishops in Lebanon urged the Lebanese government and the United Nations to protect the property of civilians and religious institutions, citing in particular the village of Yaroun where officials said Israeli …

Tried and found wanting: How Leo XIV chose heresy over the Church - LifeSite

Mon May 4, 2026 - 7:06 am EDTMon May 4, 2026 - 11:41 am EDT
(
LifeSiteNews) — Leo XIV has publicly rejected the teaching of the Catholic Church that capital punishment is legitimate under certain conditions.
This teaching, having been proposed for our belief by the universal and ordinary magisterium, must be believed by all Catholics. The denial of this doctrine constitutes heresy.
The implications of Leo XIV’s public profession of heresy deserve careful consideration.
Leo XIV’s position on capital punishment
On April 24, in a video address commemorating the 15th anniversary of the abolition of the death penalty in Illinois, Leo XIV said:
The Church teaches that “the death penalty is inadmissible because it is an attack on the inviolability and dignity of the person.”
The words within speech marks are from the text on capital punishment inserted into the Catechism of the Catholic Church in 2018 by Francis.
Speaking to journalists in a plane interview on April 27, Leo XIV reiterated …

Surely it's a heresy to recognise a public heretic as Pope as such recognition is an attack on the papacy itself.

Mike the Pike

Leo XIV publicly professed heresy both before and after his putative election by openly repudiating a doctrine proposed for our belief by the ordinary and universal magisterium of the Church.

From DA: "I am a practicing catholic. And I need to say something that's going to make a lot of people uncomfortable.
Nigeria, the Sahel, India, Syria, Bangladesh, Pakistan, hundreds of Christians have been murdered this year alone. Churches burned to the ground, pastors kidnapped and killed. Communities that have practiced their faith for centuries are being wiped out.
Pope Leo XIV has said almost nothing.
NO named condemnations, NO emergency visits, NO breaking of protocol, just quiet platitudes about dialogue and peace - directed at nobody in particular.
BUT the week Trump escalated the Iran war? Leo flew across continents, gave media interviews, posted viral messages and had three Cardinals appear on 60 minutes in what felt like a coordinated response. Bishop Strickland was removed for defending the Church doctrine. Bishop Fernández in Puerto Rico was removed for defending religious exemptions that the cathechism itself supports.
During Covid, goverments padlocked churches across …Дукха

The Happy-Go-Lucky Jewish Group That Connects Trump and Putin

Chabad of Port Washington, a Jewish community center on Long Island’s Manhasset Bay, sits in a squat brick edifice across from a Shell gas station and a strip mall. The center is an unexceptional building on an unexceptional street, save for one thing: Some of the shortest routes between Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin run straight through it.
Two decades ago, as the Russian president set about consolidating power on one side of the world, he embarked on a project to supplant his country’s existing Jewish civil society and replace it with a parallel structure loyal to him. On the other side of the world, the brash Manhattan developer was working to get a piece of the massive flows of capital that were fleeing the former Soviet Union in search of stable assets in the West, especially real estate, and seeking partners in New York with ties to the region.
Their respective ambitions led the two men—along with Trump’s future son-in-law, Jared Kushner—to build a set of close, overlapping …
